Cardiac Services
Cheyenne Cardiology Associates offers a full range
of heart and vascular care, including:
Electrocardiogram
Heart beat/rhythm is recorded through electrodes (small pads) placed on the chest.
Echocardiogram
Ultrasound is used to view heart muscle function and valve structures.
Stress Echocardiography
Heart rate is increased through exercise or medication. “Before and after” ultrasound of the heart allows cardiologists to see changes in heart function at rest and during stress.
Nuclear Stress Test
Measures blood flow to the heart at rest and during stress. Similar to a routine stress test but provides images in addition to electrocardiograms.
Holter Monitor
A heart monitor worn under your clothing. Records electrical activity of your heart as you go about normal activities for 2 hours.
Event Recorder
Similar to the Holter monitor- but worn for several weeks instead of 24 hours. You select which heartbeats are recorded.
Transesophageal Echocardiography
Ultrasound of your heart recorded through the esophagus.
Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization
A long thin tube is inserted into an artery or vein in your groin, neck or arm and threaded through your blood vessels to your heart. Used to check for cardiovascular conditions, especially artery blockages that could trigger a heart attack.
Cardiac Angioplasty And Stenting
Angioplasty — procedure in which a tiny balloon is used to widen a blocked or narrow passageway to your heart.
Stent — A tiny wire mesh tube used to hold a blood vessel open, often after an angioplasty.
Cardiac Pacemakers And Defibrillators
Pacemaker — a small device about the size of a pocket watch. Placed under the skin and near your heart to help control your heart rhythm.
Implantable cardiac-defibrillator — A pager sized device implanted in your chest. May reduce your risk of dying if your heart rhythm suddenly becomes too fast or your heart stops beating.
